FINAL DEGREE PROJECT | Academical project_UPC 2012
Professor | Alfred Linares
Location | Turó de la Rovira_Barcelona
The project, an historical Museum and interpretation center, is located at the top of a hill.
This hill, Turó de la Rovira, is one of three that make up the ”Parc dels Tres Turons”,
a park located in the upper part of the urban fabric of Barcelona.
The building has the appearance of two solid corps, prismatic and metalical,
embedded in the ground as if they were ancient remains, and nature over time had taken them.
In order to get this effect, I create a series of green covers, from the bottom to the top of the hill.
They come out of the ground, blurring the limits between the building and the environment.
To get the two volumes seem solid from afar, but at the same time let the light come inside,
I use a Deployee sheet brass as a double skin that covers them. This skin will oxidize over time,
integrating the building even more into the environment.
